Tarot has allowed me to claim a spiritual practice that is my own and has supported healing from interpersonal and religious trauma.
My relationship with Tarot began in middle school when I purchased a Universal Waite deck at a local Barnes & Noble. I was raised in a Southern evangelical tradition and it was a difficult and oppressive system for me as an intuitive, highly sensitive child. I held onto that first deck and Tarot very magically found its way back into my life around 2013.
After reading for myself for several years, I started more actively studying tarot and the practice of tarot reading in 2017. I began reading tarot professionally in 2021. It is a joy to share this practice that has supported deep transformation in my own life with my clients.
A few things I’ve come to believe through my own healing…
I believe in the power of telling our truths. I believe in kindness. I believe in rest. I believe in the power of the individual but also in the necessity of support and community. I believe in cultivating safety and curating our environment to support us and our unique needs. I believe we are always allowed to change our minds. I believe we can always begin again, again. I believe it is brave to ask for help.
I also believe that we are all living inside systems of oppression that work to keep us tired, disconnected, and striving. Tarot has helped me exist inside of these and better care for myself. My work with reading tarot led me to my interest in offering spiritual care more broadly and eventually to my training with Still Harbor in Spiritual Direction.
Spiritual direction, or accompaniment, is a one-to-one relationship built on deep listening and a tool of collective liberation. You get to show up exactly as you are and together we can hold what is on your heart. Together, we listen for the movement of spirit within your life. It is an honor to be a compassionate witness to your life story and to support you on your path. You can learn more about spiritual accompaniment here.
My approach to the tarot is an ever-evolving combination of psychological, spiritual, and practical. My style of reading is process-oriented, conversational and collaborative. This is to say it is emergent with every client. My hope is that tarot reading or spiritual accompaniment can be a support to you as you travel your path. I’m so happy you’re here.
